Dr. Milorad Bijelović was born on January 10, 1971, in Vrbas, where he completed elementary school and high school. He enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, Department of General Medicine in 1989, graduated in 1994 with an average grade of 9.83. He was awarded in 1993 as the best student of the Faculty of Medicine for the academic year 1992/93. He is the recipient of the First Prize of the "Slađana Đorđević" Fund of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad for achieving the best success in the final year of medical studies, as well as the First Prize of the University of Novi Sad for graduating students in the academic year 1994/95.

After completing his medical internship and fulfilling his military obligation, on October 10, 1996, he began his specialization in Thoracic Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad. He passed the specialist exam in thoracic surgery on November 16, 2001. He is employed at the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery of the Institute for Lung Diseases of Vojvodina in Sremska Kamenica as the head of the clinic. He is proficient in English.

He defended his master's thesis at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Novi Sad on March 9, 2004. He was an assistant at the Department of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad from 2004 to 2012. He defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Novi Sad on November 25, 2015. He held the title of Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Novi Sad from 2016 to 2021. In 2023, he was appointed Associate Professor of Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine in Foča, University of East Sarajevo.

He has undergone professional training in Germany (Ruhrlandklinik Essen in 2005 for 3 months), the United States (Cleveland Clinic and Duke University Medical Center in 2009 for 2 months), and Japan (Osaka University Medical Center in 2013 for one month).

He is the author and co-author of several papers in the field of thoracic surgery and the author of chapters in two surgery textbooks. He is the author of one monograph in the field of thoracic surgery and co-author of two practical guides in the field of surgery. He participated as a researcher and clinical coordinator in three international, multicenter, randomized clinical trials in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. He is married and the father of four children.
