Marijela Potić was born in 1965 in Novi Sad. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Novi Sad in 1989. She completed her specialization in social medicine in 1998. She defended her master's thesis in 1999. She worked at the Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases from 1994 to 2009 as a clinical researcher with Professors Đorđe Jakovljević and Ninoslav Radovanović. She is a co-author of several scientific papers and publications in the field of cardiovascular diseases (risk stratification and quality of life assessment in patients undergoing open-heart surgery). From 2000 to 2001, she worked as a specialist physician at the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina. She is currently the person with the highest access rights at the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina for the Public Health Service of the Republic of Serbia. As a representative of the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina, she has been a member of the Health Council of the City of Novi Sad for over 10 years. She leads the Bronchial Cancer Registry at the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina (over 22,000 patients).
