I was born in Novi Sad, where I completed primary and secondary school and in 1987 graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad with an average grade of 9.54. That same year, I was employed at the Institute for Lung Diseases of Vojvodina (IPBV), Sremska Kamenica. I passed the specialist exam in pneumonology in 1995, and since 2013, I have had a subspecialty in pulmonology. I became a primary physician in 2002. Since 2010, I have been the head of the Department of Respiratory Infections and Cystic Fibrosis at IPBV. I defended my master's thesis (Assessment of the Value of Diagnostic Procedures in Solitary Peripheral Lung Lesions) at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad in 1996, where I also defended my doctoral dissertation (Factors Influencing the Outcome of Pneumonia Treatment and the Possibility of Their Stratification) in 2004. Since 2015, I have held the title of full professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, in the narrower scientific field of Internal Medicine. I am the author or co-author of 170 scientific papers in the field of pulmonology, chapters in textbooks, monographs, chapters in monographs, publications, and collections of test questions. I was the president of the Pneumonology Section of Vojvodina of the Serbian Medical Society of Vojvodina.
