Health is a state of physical, mental, social, and economic well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity
Nursing is a professional field of work for nurses in providing assistance to individuals and groups.
Nursing tasks:
- maintaining patient hygiene and their environment,
- nutrition of patients,
- observing patients and identifying signs characteristic of diseases, as well as urgent signs that require immediate medical intervention,
- medical-technical procedures performed during the treatment and care of patients and
- health education of patients.
The nursing process occurs in four consecutive stages:
- assessment,
- planning,
- implementation and
- evaluation of outcomes.
Principles of healthcare:
- principle of humanity
- principle of respect for individuality
Nursing is increasingly recognized worldwide as a discipline with a distinct program of action that is independent of other disciplines within the healthcare system.
Being a nurse is a unique vocation that demands the best in human beings – humanity and dedication to the profession.
A nurse must be an emotionally mature and stable person in order to understand and cope with human suffering, emergencies, and health issues.
The goal of nursing is to assist individuals in the field of healthcare from conception to death, helping them to accept themselves as they are and to live with dignity.
